We are seeking a Nurse Manager to supervise the patient care unit at a prestigious Medical Center in Colton,CA. This position is responsible for managing and supervising a large staff of Assistant Unit Managers, and Registered Nurses and related support staff assigned to the specialty critical care, specialty care or non-specialty patient care units including the day-to-day operations and assumes 24 hour responsibility. Compensation:
$89.00/hr. Max (W2 LOCAL Rate) - LOCAL RNs ONLY
ESTIMATED TRAVEL PACKAGE:
Hourly Rate: $51.18
Weekly Stipend: $1316.00 ($448.00/Weekly Meal+$868.00/Weekly Lodging)
Gross Weekly Pay: $3082 - TRAVEL RNs ONLY
Shift:
Days: 36 hrs/week min.
POSITION DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Duties may include but are not limited to the following:
Supervises and directs the work of others; assigns, reviews and evaluates work of assigned nursing and support staff; prepares and/or signs work performance evaluations; handles disciplinary and hiring and firing actions; prepares schedules and oversees control of staff scheduling and payroll time and attendance processing; approves time off.
Oversees the planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care by assuring assignments are made on the basis of knowledge, skills and competency level with consideration for the needs of each patient.
Develops and implements departmental policies and procedures, objectives, safety initiatives, environmental and infection control and prevention standards; monitors and ensures compliance with regulations and facility policies and procedures; provides training and technical guidance as needed.
Develops monthly schedules; ensures adequate daily staffing to meet fluctuating census needs; makes adjustments as needed to maintain budget.
Establishes objectives of care and standards of practice; conducts clinical rounds to monitor patient care quality; discusses plans with physicians, other professional disciplines, patients and families; investigates and facilitates documentation of unusual occurrences and reports risk management issues.
Develops and prepares unit budget; assesses and recommends budget requirements for assigned unit; monitors human and material resource utilization, creates reports, manages and reconciles budget and explains budget variances; controls overtime.
Ensures requirements with regulatory and accreditation requirements; develops policies, procedures and standards of care practice; develops survey responses, action plans and survey readiness processes and systems.
Monitors patient satisfaction surveys, develops and implements strategies for improvement; makes recommendations; participates in employee engagement; supports and implements hospital initiatives.
Oversees Nurse Educators instruction of staff in technical nursing skills such as the administration of medications, competencies, supplies and equipment; conducts staff meetings.
Ensures preservation of patient rights and privacy laws and standards; resolves and processes patient complaints and/or grievances within mandated timeframes and procedures.
Ensures that staff has necessary nursing skills to perform duties; collaborates with Education Services.
Oversees the development and implementation of orientation programs; instructs and assigns new Employees to others for orientation and training, in-services, and education programs; ensures staff attend required in-services and education, instruction and orientation and maintains compliance with standards of care and facility policies and procedures, license and unit based certification requirements.
Reviews and analyzes observations and nursing interpretation of patient data and condition; compares outcomes to benchmark information develops and implements and monitors performance improvement projects and initiatives.
Prepares letters, documents, reports, and other correspondence.
Performs professional nursing duties as needed.
Provides vacation and temporary relief as required.
Required Experience:
3+ years of nursing experience - required
1+ year of NICU experience - requiredAt least
1+ year of recent/current Supervisor/Interim experience - required
MSN or BSN + MA in Healthcare Administration - required
IDEAL candidate will have at least '5' years of nursing experience with '2' or more years of supervisory experience in acute care facility
Certifications:
Neonatal Intensive Care Nursing certificate
NRP, BLS (AHA)
